Nice to meet you all, just got my first mini this summer and am planning on doing vtec conversion to it as the $$ allows. Still debating on the engine choice, leaning towards doing a K series but I dont know if my current hood will work... may have to replace it I think since the previous owner went for the reverse lift - makes it a little pain to work on the engine cause you have to always bend around it. The engine in the car is pooched (was an 1140cc) so I figure instead of putting money into something that doesnt quite put a smile on my face I'd throw a little more into it and get something that I want. I came from owning a couple V8 Nova's and am use to the pull when you lay the hammer down with one them... when I first got this mini I died a little inside and vowed to fix it :mrblue:
So hopefully over the next year I can get started on it, with the Canadian dollar worth more then the US currently it should make my build a little cheaper to deal with. Not sure if I am going to do all my own work on the machine, I am not really a wrench head - I fix computers for a living - so I might see if i can find a company up here that does that sort of thing... dont want to have to send my car to the states to get the work done.
Anyways, looking forward to watching this site grow and hope to learn quite alot before I take on my cars build.
